Lauren and Ted’s wedding at St. Louis Botanical Gardens was a dazzling affair that tapped into a variety of unique ideas, and focused on individuality to create memories that will last a lifetime. The occasion also allowed for an integration of beautiful natural surroundings and stunning indoor decor.
Festive and Far from Ordinary
A daring mix of glass-topped lighted pedestals and beautifully-draped tables proves that there is magic in a mix of styles and materials. Slim and airy seating ties it all together.
Aglow with Elegance
Sparkling chandeliers and mirrored walls reflect the glow from candles, architectural uplighting, ceiling-height windows and the polished dance floor of this elegant ballroom. The coffered ceiling adds overhead beauty, and window swags add dark softness and drama to this primarily light and neutral scene.
Trendy Linen
Look closely, and you’ll see that the table linen varies with the table configuration, as do the floral centerpieces. It’s an inspired touch, subtle but oh so chic! Table rounds wear a pattern of silver birch threads, while the squares sport overall embellishment of champagne bubbles.

High and Low
Designers added a whimsical tough to the formality by varying the height of floral centerpieces: Oversize, tall and flowing on round tables; close to the surface and punctuated with votives and chunky tall clear candle holders that soften the linear lines on the 8-person square tables.
Extravagance Unleashed
A blanket of blooms and a touch of greenery prevents those long glass-topped banquet tables from seeming cold and contemporary. Rather, they are warm and welcoming, and perfectly underscore the prevailing air of classic formality at this late-summer celebration.
Attention to Detail
Place settings are restrained, down to the striking shape of round menu cards that perfectly complement the china. Anything other than pure white napkins would have been distracting. This is one occasion where less is definitely more!
Deftly Orchestrated
It is obvious from the photographs that the focus of this wedding was on family and fun! Isn’t that the goal of every wedding celebration? Lauren and Ted captured a spirit that was theirs alone. That romance and those memories will surely last a lifetime.
