What could be more perfect for an event under sunny skies in Orange County, California than table coverings in brilliant sunset hues? The Association of Bridal Consultant – Orange County hosted the All Member’s Meeting on July 12, 2017. The ABC has set the standard for professional excellence in the wedding industry since 1955.

Members of all industries came together to create an event with complementary linen in tones drawn directly from the garden, and a stunning mix of garden hues in both food and floral displays.

Playing Against Nature

Both floral displays and food take their cue from the dramatic sunset tones of display tables and napkins. Garden greens in both landscape and linen allow cactus flowers, stunning blooms and hors d’oeuvres to take center stage.

Serene and Green

Table rounds dressed in graphic green and white linen are encircled with pristine white seating, and stretch out across a manicured lawn, punctuated simply by colorful floral centerpieces.

Tempered with White and Natural

When colors are this vivid, an abundance of white serves to balance the display. Here, simple accessories are drawn from nature; bleached antlers and simple terra cotta pots are used with touches of brass and gold to add an elegant flavor.

No Detail Overlooked

Achieve balance for a colorful event by incorporating unexpected darker touches. The patina of chargers and service plates contrasts with superbly simple gold and black flatware. The lighthearted floral theme, though, is vividly repeated on the menu card, and deep-toned solid napkins add punch.

Mixing It Up

Event designers are more than aware of the stunning effect of mismatched table settings. Long banquet tables are left uncovered to provide a bit of visual relief. While place settings are visually similar, chargers are subtly different, and white china is joined by oversize chalky candle holders and single vibrant blooms in china vases. Green hobnail glasses are pulled into service, with both dusky rose and deep burgundy napkins.

Capitalizing on Exotic

For a seating area grounded with an exotic tribal pattern rug, the mix of textures is relaxing and exciting at the same time. This vignette is true to the colorful theme, and offers ample confirmation that a mix of weathered wood, natural elements, vintage style and a willingness to “break the rules” is another path to memorable design.

Islands of Bright Delight

Tables draped to the floor with bursts of solid linen stand like punctuation marks centered by the trademark bright floral arrangements. They offer perfect convenience for guests to gather round or leave an empty glass!

All in all, this ABC – Orange County celebration is an inspired tribute to South of the Border sensibilities and verve. Party on!
